Eric still holds down a day job in computer software, but I believe him when he says he loves his seven-day-a-week marathon. A weekend farmer for many years, Ralph is in Sherman full-time and his son Eric took over many of the responsibilities 12 years ago to be sure White Silo would stay in the family. White Silo is the creation of Eric’s father, Ralph, 85, who started the place 30 years ago after a dizzying array of jobs in New York City that included factory work and driving a cab before he became an engineer. To be honest, I was more than slightly skeptical, but the light-green confection was as tasty as the rest of the food, a unique blend of savory and sweet.
